Directions

San Francisco is very “user-friendly” for a big city. It is very easy to get around on foot or by using public transportation. The Nob Hill Inn desk staff will help you make the most of your visit, so do not hesitate to ask if you need information or directions. There is someone on duty 24 hours a day to assist you.

We strongly recommend that you DO NOT bring a car into San Francisco. Parking is scarce and very expensive. For the cost of a rental car, parking, gas (over $4 per gallon), insurance and aggravation, you can take a lot of buses and taxis. The Inn is located in a very densely populated downtown area. It is very easy to get around on foot, by taxi, or by public transportation. If you need a car for a trip out of the City, we can arrange a rental for you. Keep in mind that we have no parking facility of our own. There are, however, a number of public garages in the neighborhood we can direct you to, but the least you should expect to pay is $40+ per day.

If you fly into San Francisco International Airport, you can catch a shuttle at the airport that will bring you right to our door. These van-sized shuttles are located on the upper terminal and cost about $17 to 20 per person. You may also catch a taxi to The Inn. Pick one up on the lower level of the airport, just outside the baggage claim area. The fare should run about $65 to 70.
